Philippine Independence
A short essay on the sovereignty and independence of the Philippines (And some things you may not know)
Independence Day! It is that time of the year again when we Filipinos get to celebrate our independence and sovereignty as a nation. An independent and sovereign pearl of the orient free from the clutches of external intervening powers. Or is it?
Growing up and learning Philippine history in school, I learned the long road in how we were formed as a nation and going through different eras of colonization just to get that independence, from the Spanish arriving to the Americans and Japanese invasions to the independence granted by the Americans on July 4, 1946.
But as I grow older and reflect upon it, I question the fact if we Filipinos truly have our own sovereign power or the fact that we have been controlled all this time by external forces especially under the hands of COVID-1984.
Ever since our official independence in 1946 after World War II, I have learned that the shadows of power never left the nation and has haunted the nation ever since till this day. With the creation of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in America in 1947, we were under a new style of colonialism or neo-colonialism of a deep state order that dawns upon us. From the partnerships between Colonel Edward Lansdale and Ramon Magsaysay that will shape up the Asian Cold War, the different agents that were behind the building-up of Presidents Diosdado Macapagal and the polarizing Ferdinand Marcos (who’s presidency has caused a big political divide between Philippine politics until this day) to the CIA color revolution that is People Power Revolution I to oust Ferdinand Marcos in favor of Corazon Aquino who was propped up by the CIA and Cardinal Sin and the Catholic Church in the Philippines.
Aside from the shadow power of the foreign agents, financially the Philippines have never been independent as being a developing country, we were always indebt slavery by the Jekyll Island International Monetary Fund (IMF). We live under a Global Public-Private Partnership (G3P) of stakeholder and gangster capitalists that control the world’s flow of money and impoverish nations most especially the developing countries such as the Philippines. This power held by the big corporations has influenced and usurped every country’s way of living from all fields making the concept of nation-states seem meaningless. People Power Revolution I here in the Philippines again is a great example of how the private partnership exerts its power to install a puppet for the partnership.

Global Public-Private Parnership (G3P) Hierarchy
As Filipinos, we unfortunately have the condition of a “savior complex” where we rely on our politicians to do the work for us which is meaningless as most (if not all) our politicians are bought out from all sides. What we as Filipinos can do is to build from the bottom-up starting from ourselves to our own families and small communities and networks and not the other way around. The corporate governmental state we live under do not dictate our rights and our sovereignty. We as humans always have these inalienable rights from the moment we are on our mother’s womb up to our last breath. To accept and understand that we must free ourselves from the shackles of mental and physical prison that was put on upon by the state and to help others around you in doing so and empowering them is where we see true independence and sovereignty of the Filipino people.
Yes it can be difficult to accept this and it was hard for me to accept, but by understanding the system that is placed upon us and finding like-minded folks to build communities and solutions is the first step to true liberation.
Happy Independence Day Everyone!
NOTE: I am working on making some stuff regarding some hidden and untold Philippine history and expound some topics here so stay tuned!
